Working Together: NVYS Parent & Student Handbook
A great NVYS season is something we create together.
Our Parent & Student Handbook (English/Español) is here to help musicians and families know what to expect, stay connected, and understand the shared responsibilities that help our ensembles thrive.
We encourage families to review the handbook together and return to it throughout the season. Inside, you’ll find important information about attendance, rehearsals and concerts, communication, preparation, behavior, safety, tuition, volunteering, and family participation.
For musicians, being part of NVYS means coming prepared, practicing your music, supporting your fellow musicians, communicating when you will be absent, and taking an active role in your musical growth.
For parents and caregivers, your support makes an enormous difference—from helping musicians arrive prepared and on time to staying informed, completing required forms, volunteering, and communicating with our team when questions come up.
When musicians, families, and our artistic team work together, we build more than strong performances—we create a welcoming community where young musicians can learn, grow, and make music together.
