09/22/26 - Congratulations on a productive rehearsal and successful String auditions! Next week string players will be placed in their permanent seating positions upon arrival. This seating will be in place until our next seating audition in January.

Our next rehearsal will look like this:

• 3:45pm Arrival and Warm up

• 4-5pm Rehearsal

• 5:00pm Break

• 5:15pm Sectional Coaching

• 6:00pm End

The week concentrate your practice time on the following:

• Go West: m. 1-35

• Overture to Die Fledermaus: m. 1-78

• Hornpipe: m. 1-40

Please Note: Several sections of our music go quite fast. Be sure to learn those sections slowly and accurately before gradually increasing the tempo.

09/15/26 - Great rehearsal this week! Thank you for all your hard work already this early in the season! During our next rehearsal we will work together for the first hour. After the break, the brass and woodwinds will rehearse with me, and the Strings will have their seating auditions.

String seating audition excerpts are below:

• Violin: 1) Hornpipe m. 1-11 and 2) Go West m. 62-72 (your choice between 1st and 2nd Violin)

• Viola: Hornpipe m. 1-11 and 2) Go West m. 62-72

• Cello: 1) Hornpipe m. 1-11 and 2) Overture to Die Fledermaus m. 1-12

This week you should practice the sections of music that we rehearsed at our last rehearsal. This includes:

1. Hornpipe: m. 1-17

2. Overture to Die Fledermaus: m. 1-31

3. Go West: m. 1 -15

09/01/26 - That was such a great start! Thank you for your patience in figuring out our set up and passing out music. I’m already looking forward to our next rehearsal! Remember to come to our next rehearsal having done your best to learn the following:

1. Hornpipe: m. 1-27

2. Overture to Die Fledermaus: m. 1-13

Of course, you can practice the rest of the music too but first learn the parts above.

String Players - Seating auditions will be on September 20th during rehearsal. I will assign your seating audition music at our next rehearsal.

All Musicians - Don’t forget to bring your music and a pencil to our next rehearsal on September 13th.
