Tuition
The Napa Valley Youth Symphony remains committed towards providing the best music education possible while keeping tuition costs the lowest in Northern California. While other youth symphonies’ tuitions are often twice or triple the tuition of the Napa Valley Youth Symphony, we are still happy to provide high-level instruction from week to week with professional musicians and coaches, internationally renowned masterclass teachers and visiting conductors, a chamber music program, a retreat, a concerto competition, and exciting tours.
Tuition for the 2011 – 2012 Youth Symphony season will be $500, which includes $150 worth of ticket vouchers given to each family. Ticket vouchers can be used for any concert throughout the year, including the fundraiser. Tuition is due on or before the first rehearsal day on September 12. Please send to:

There are a limited number of tuition scholarships available for musicians needing financial assistance (documentation may be required upon request). No student or family should consider financial concerns to be an impediment to participation.
• Musicians eligible for the reduced school lunch program automatically qualify for full tuition waiver. Musicians 18 and over may qualify for this category upon providing statement of equivalent need. Applications for tuition waiver must be submitted on or before the first rehearsal day. Awarding of these waivers will be granted based on available funds.
• Tuition scholarships may be available for musicians who demonstrate need. Applications for tuition assistance must be submitted on or before the first rehearsal day. Submission of an application does not guarantee receipt of financial assistance. Awarding of these scholarships will be based on need, non-financial contributions made by the family, and musician’s conduct (effort, attendance, etc.). Musician’s share of tuition is due upon receipt of notification of financial assistance awards.
Musicians who have not met their financial obligations to the NVYS by either payment of tuition or receipt of tuition assistance application before September 12, 2010 may not be allowed to participate in NVYS activities.
